bennettcomicKids ages 9 to 14 are invited to participate in a Hero Stories comics workshop on Wednesday, July 29 from 3 to 7 pm. Preregistration is requested, call or stop in the library to sign up. There will be pizza, too.

Teacher cartoonist Marek Bennett will lead this workshop. Marek will share his work with hero characters in his comics, and help YOU create an original comic based on a hero in YOUR life. We’ll finish the workshop with a dramatic reading of our hero comics, and go home with all the skills necessary to continue creating comics all Summer long.

No experience required – everyone can draw comics!

This program is one of the NH State Library’s Kids, Books & the Arts series, with funding provided by the Jack and Dorothy Bryne Foundation, CHILIS, Cogswell Benevolent Trust, and is supported in part by a grant from the NH State Council on the Arts & the National Endowment for the Arts as well as funds administered by the NH State Library and provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The Friends of Cook Memorial Library also provided funds for this event.
