Riding a motorized bicycle
Aldo Stearns and Hi Mason riding a motorized bicycle. (Now there’s a story we’d like to hear!)

As you may have noticed, we’ve been putting a lot of emphasis on stories, especially collecting our local stories in conjunction with Tamworth’s 250th anniversary, the year-long celebration that kicked off this month.

Two upcoming story-related events will be held here at the library:

  • On Wednesday, November 4 at 6:30 pm, the Arts Council of Tamworth brings artist-in-residence Motoko to the library for a Storytelling Lab. People preparing stories for Tamworth’s 250th and everyone else are welcome to come learn skills for telling a riveting story—no experience necessary. Bring refreshments to share if you wish.
  • On Wednesday, November 18 at 7 pm, Conway native Gloria Aspinall will tell “Old Time Stories from the Valley,” providing examples of the types of “ordinary life” stories we’re hoping to gather from Tamworth folks. All are welcome to come listen.
