6a013488b55a86970c01b7c7434391970bMichael Callis of Eaton, a stonemason by trade, will present his talk “Liberty Rocks! 800 years of Magna Carta” on Wednesday, June 1 at 7:00 pm.

In his presentation, Callis will trace the history of rebellion in the quest for liberty from the Magna Carta to colonial America and New Hampshire. The Magna Carta was cited by the founding colonizers in the seventeenth century and is the basis of the rights that help to protect us from wrongful imprisonment.

Callis will describe connections that a variety of well-known historical figures–including Darby Field, Shakespeare, Oliver Cromwell–have to the rebellions and the documents that resulted from them.
