mousetrap carClaes Thelemarck, UNH Cooperative Extension/4-H Science Educator will hold a training workshop for educators on Saturday, January 14, 9 am to noon at the Cook Memorial Library.

Educators will learn how to lead a hands-on project for youth to design and build a small car powered by a mousetrap.  After completing their cars, kids will modify their designs and experiment with different features to make the cars go as far as possible.

This curriculum provides a maker/engineering experience suitable for 4-H Clubs, 4-H SPINs, afterschool programs and classrooms. For a detailed description, download the printable flyer here: https://extension.unh.edu/resources/files/Resource006286_Rep9012.pdf

We would love to find a couple of volunteers to learn this curriculum and help us offer this as an afterschool program for kids here at the library. If you are interested, please contact Mary or Amy at the library, 323-8510.

To register for the educator workshop, contact Betty Lou Canty at UNH Cooperative Extension, (603) 447-3834 or Bettylou.canty@unh.edu. Registration deadline is January 9th.
