accordion book#1: Paste paper – Sunday, January 15, 12 noon-3pm (FULL)
Learn to make paste paper, a decorated paper used in bookbinding. Papers you make today can be used at Book Making workshops to be held in February. Bring scissors (for cutting paper) and a brayer, if you have one.

#2: Gelatin printmaking – Sunday, Jan. 29, 12 noon-4 pm (FULL, call to be put on waitlist)
Learn to make gelatin prints, a monotype printing technique with beautiful results. Prints you make today can be used at Book Making workshops to be held in February. Bring scissors (for cutting paper) and a brayer, if you have one.

#3: Accordion books – Sunday, February 12, 12 noon-3 pm
Learn to make accordion books. Bring paper and prints you created at Jay’s January workshops, or bring any photos, prints, or any paper-based artwork of your own. Plan on pieces that can be trimmed or cropped to 4″ x 4″ square.

#4: Flag books – Sunday, February 26, 12 noon-3 pm
Learn to make flag books, a variation on accordion-folded books. Bring paper and prints you created at Jay’s January workshops, or bring any photos, prints, or any paper-based artwork of your own. Plan on pieces that can be trimmed or cropped to 4″ x 4″ square.

Registration is required for all workshops – limit 12 per session. Call 323-8510 or stop in the library at least three days ahead to register. You may attend one, two, three, or all four workshops. There is no charge for these workshops. Please register for each workshop separately.
