D. Circulation

III-D Circulation (Revised 6-11-07)

A. The library will serve all permanent and temporary residents of Tamworth . Residents of adjacent towns may use the library at the discretion of the Library Director. There will be no fee for patron registration. Borrowing privileges are extended to anyone over seven years of age. All such patrons shall complete a registration card. The Library Director has the authority to make exceptions to the above policies.

B. Books and audios may be taken out for a period of two weeks and may be renewed for two weeks. Videos may be borrowed for a period of three days.

C. Library users may check out a maximum of 15 items at a time.

D. Reference books and any non-circulating collections may not be taken out, unless permitted by the library director.

E. A borrower who loses or damages library material will be billed for the full replacement cost.

F. Use of the library and its services may be denied or restricted by the Library Director for due cause. Such cause may be failure to return books or to pay penalties, destruction of library property, disturbance of other patrons, or for any objectionable conduct on library premises. Library circulation records and other records identifying the names of library users are confidential. The library staff protects each user’s right to privacy with respect to information sought or received, and materials consulted, borrowed, or acquired.
