On Tuesday night, March 6th, pants were transformed into satchels at a lively sewing bee held at the library. Here they are, modeling their new creations.

Welcome
This is the April 2008 upgrade of Cook Memorial Library’s new website, in development by Scriblio. It’s a brand new model for libraries, constructed to be interactive throughout, and to give website users the same opportunity for give-and-take that’s one of the joys of visiting our physical library on Tamworth’s Main Street.
If this is your first visit to the new site, please go to the HELP link. It will show you how to navigate the website. Please feel free to comment. Our automation system, INFOCENTRE, can be accessed directly for RESERVES & RENEWS, and creating reading lists. -

Was this event a promotion for Ann Brashares’ books, or something that our creative staff members cooked up on their own? Is there a sponsoring organization of some sort? Will it happen again?
This is a traveling program for the traveling pants! A pair of blue jeans is traveling through New Hampshire to be inscribed upon by young library patrons. From our library, the pants went to Madison, and then elsewhere. The Traveling Pants series is very popular with our young teens, and the program was great fun. It will probably not be repeated, unless by clamorous popular demand.
