On Wednesday, September 12th at 1 p.m., Carol Batchelder will lead a book discussion of Saturday by Ian McEwan. Copies are available at the library.

On Wednesday, October 10th at 6:30 p.m., the “One Book One Valley” book discussion of The Old American by Ernest Hebert will be presented. Refreshments will be offered.

On Friday, October 19th at 2:00 p.m., local author, Titia Bozuwa will talk about her published memoirs. The library has three of her titles available.

On Wednesday, October 24th at 7:00 p.m., Dr. Nancy Hafkin will speak on Cinderella or Cyberella: Empowering Women in the Knowledge Society. Dr. Hafkin has been working for 30 years to promote the development of information and communications, with special attention to women, in Africa and other developing countries. She has written widely on information technology, gender, and international development. One of the most prestigious prizes in the field of Information Communications Technology for Development is named in her honor and given each year by the Association for Progressive Communication.
