On Friday, January 25th at the library, from 9:00 a.m. until noon Steve Gray will lead an American Red Cross CPR Certification and AED training. This training is especially appropriate for organizations with AEDs, but everyone is welcome. $35.00 per student; check payable to Mount Washington Valley Red Cross. Please register at Cook Memorial Library (323-8510), so there will be materials ready for everyone who wishes to attend.
This training includes the following: checking conscious and unconscious victims, getting help, managing victims, responsibilities and liability under Good Samaritan Law, airway management, rescue breaths, breathing barriers, standard precaution against pathogens, CPR, conscious and unconscious choking aid, treating for shock, using and maintaining the AED, emergency action plan for your facility, textbook, skills cards, written test (piece ‘o cake), CPR certification card (all Red Cross CPR certifications, at every level, are for one year.
From 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. will be a free informational session, no need to register ahead of time. It will include: AED demonstrations & practice; emergency planning; CPR for adults, children & infants; basic first aid principles, and developing and using an emergency action plan for your facility/business/home.
Both sessions will be repeated on March 1st, 2008 for those unable to attend on January 25th.
