Portable Apps.com is built around the concept of redesigning typical applications that many people like to use, to boot from a USB drive. This freeware is both downloadable and free for all.
That means that when you go to the library to use one of the public computers, and they don’t have your favorite web browser or instant messenger client installed – not to mention all of your personal data that goes on those programs – you can pop your USB drive into their computer and have it be like the one on your desk at home. The idea is ingenious and very useful for those who use public access computers for business or pleasure, as so many do at this library. Give it a spin.
