Flying book

April 11th-15th is National Library Week and this year the theme is Create Your Own Story @ the Library.
Kids in grade 3-6 are invited to participate in a 3-part art program.

Think about an event or activity in your life that is or was important to who you are. This might be a family tradition or trip or something that you love doing, “Your Story”. On Tuesday, April 12th from 1:00-3:00, artists Debbie Hatch and Jean Hurley will facilitate a workshop on collage. To create “Your Story” in collage you can use some of your own pictures or use the materials the artists bring in.
And on Wednesday, April 20th from 6:30-8:00, writer and teacher, Louise Wrobleski will help you create the words, in poetry form or prose, to describe your story.
The last session (date to be decided), will be a chance for you to be filmed talking about your piece of art.. These short films can be put on the library’s Facebook page or on a disc for you to keep.
Sign-up soon for this great program at the Cook Memorial Library! Enrollment is limited to 10 so please call the library at 323-8510 or email [email protected] to save your spot.
