Marge Kendrick won her first scholarship to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School when she was only twelve years old. She has continued winning awards and accolades ever since, and it is our great honor to have a selection of her work on our walls this October and November. Included are oils, pastels, watercolors, and acrylics in images of still life, portraiture, and landscape. The one thread that runs through her work is that she is unafraid – unafraid to make a pretty picture, like these Lilacs, unafraid to examine carefully a bikini-clad young woman at the beach, and equally unafraid to make a spine tingling golden evening at Lake Chocorua, which feels like the sharpest and fullest essence of a magic and ephemeral moment.
