Terry Farish, far right, will be the guest speaker on Sept. 28.

The Friends of Cook Memorial Library invite everyone to their annual meeting, lunch, and program on Saturday, September 28 beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Tamworth Town House at 27 Cleveland Hill Road.

  • 11:30 a.m.: Attend the Friends’ annual meeting; hear about all the wonderful ways the Friends have helped your library in the past year and what they’re planning for the coming year.
  • 12:00 p.m.: Enjoy a light luncheon prepared by the Friends.
  • 12:30 p.m.: Listen to guest speaker Terry Farish, NH Humanities’ Connections Adult Literacy Program Coordinator, who will talk about the “New Voices” program she initiated. Through “New Voices,” professional writers work with immigrant learners of English. They learn from each other, edit words for power and clarity, and explore ways that bilingual writers bring new creativity to expression in English.
