For a limited time, the library’s Ancestry Library online genealogy database can be accessed from a home computer. Typically, the library’s Ancestry account is only available from computers in the library.
NOTE: the Ancestry site is seeing a LOT of traffic, and sometimes access can be glitchy. Keep trying, (which is becoming our pandemic anthem, isn’t it?) Your library card also lets you access HeritageQuest, which is “powered by Ancestry” and offers access to historical censuses, city directories, books, and more.
How to find it: Login to your Cook Memorial Library account at https://cook.nnhlc.bywatersolutions.com. If you do not have a library card or a password, contact the library at 323-8510 and leave a message, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once logged in, find the link to Ancestry near the top of the page.
