The Friends of Cook Memorial Library and library staff are coordinating a community effort, “Books for Kids,” in order to send a new book or magazine in the mail to each child in Tamworth who wants one during April vacation or soon after. The project is to offer our community one more way to show the students and their families that we care about the m and support their learning during this time.

A sponsorship donation of $20 will allow us to arrange for a book or magazine subscription to be sent directly to one Tamworth child who requests one.

If you are willing and able to sponsor a book for a child, you may send a donation of $20 per child sponsored (you may sponsor more than one child). If you can send a donation by April 21 or let us know you intend to send a donation, that will help us plan.

To donate by check, send it in the mail to: Friends of Cook Memorial Library, 93 Main Street, Tamworth, NH 03886. Write “Books for Kids” in the memo line on your check, please.

Or you may donate online using the Friends of Cook Memorial Library’s PayPal account. You can use any credit card for this, you do not need a PayPal account. When filling out the payment form, choose “add special instructions to the seller” and enter “Book for Kids” in that line.

We are sending this information to all of the parents and guardians of K. A. Brett School students, and we encourage you to share this information with Tamworth families of homeschoolers, preschoolers, and high school students who may also request a book or magazine.

If you would like to request a free book or magazine subscription for your child or children, we have set up an online request form where your child or children can let us know what kind of book or magazine they would like. Find the request form at If you prefer, you may call 603-323-8510 to let us know you’d like to request a book for your child. We’ll call you back to get details.
