Our Staff and Trustees are working on a plan to resume library services as soon as possible, but with due caution. For right now, we are offering a way for you to get a new book that we were planning to add to our collection delivered to you. We are doing this in partnership with White Birch Books, our local independent bookstore.
On the White Birch Books online shopping site, you will find a “Cook Library in Tamworth wish list,” at https://bookshop.org/lists/cook-library-in-tamworth-wish-list. Take a look. If you see a book you would like to read, there are a two options for getting it. Note we will refresh the list as books are ordered. Read on for an explanation.
We’ve set up two ways to get a book from the wish list:
- You can sponsor a book and purchase it yourself directly from the White Birch Books online shopping site, and have the book shipped to you to enjoy. When the library reopens, you pledge to bring the book to the library to become part of the library’s collection. Please use the form below to let us know which book you will bring to the library so we know it’s coming.
- You can ask the library to purchase the book for you and ship it to your address. When the library reopens, you pledge to bring the book to the library to become part of the library’s collection. For this, we ask that you be a Cook Library cardholder or Tamworth resident who will become a new Cook Library cardholder. We ask you to request only one book per person, since our budget is limited.
NOTE: If you don’t see the book you want on the wish list, you may send us your suggestion for a book to add to our collection here: https://forms.gle/TuktJDqhovcQ7e9MA.
Thank you for reading this lengthy message, and please consider helping the Cook Memorial Library keep its book collection fresh and supporting independent bookstores during this challenging time for libraries, bookstores, and readers.
