We’re happy to share news about this book launch event happening online on Wednesday, August 19 at 7:00 p.m. with Maine author Kate Kennedy. Kate visited our library on September 18, 2018 to talk about what was then her book-in-progress. Now the book has been published and her publisher is hosting an online book launch!
Skin, a memoir, is published by Littoral Press of Portland, Maine. Here’s the book description from their website:
“When writer Kate Kennedy was diagnosed with a rare form of skin cancer, her familiar self-in-the-world fell away. What followed was a grueling regime of treatments. SKIN tells how it felt from the inside, from bouts of panic and loneliness to a growing curiosity and hope for the future. Throughout, Kate’s delight in nature and her unexpectedly deep connections to fellow patients served as a touchstone for life to come. Nineteen months after her diagnosis, she took up her pen and began to write. SKIN is the result: honest, compassionate, and wise.”
At the online book launch event, Kate Kennedy will read from her memoir Skin and engage in conversation about it with Marieke Van Der Steenhoven. Find the link to this Zoom meeting online at https://littoralbooks.com/littorally-alive/.
