On Tuesday, March 9, we will head back outside for storytime! As the days begin to warm and the snow melts, we think we’ll be able to once again gather on the library’s back lawn for stories, songs and outdoor play with one another.
This coming Tuesday we’ll explore the first signs of spring, including how these warm days and cold nights are making the sap run in the trees. Amy will share about her maple syrup operation and Polly will bring out the metal buckets so that we can play sap gatherers!

This past week we talked about our pets and Polly showed us how to play sled dogs in the snow! All you need is a sled (or a box or bin), a rope and a cloth bag. The handles of the bag become a backpack that attaches to the sled via the rope. Kids love this type of play because they get to feel their growing strength and coordination. We hope you and your kids give it a try at home!
To join us at our story time spot, please enter via the paths on either sides of The Other Store. We’ll be using one of their firepit areas for our gathering spot. As always, bring a blanket for your family to sit on, a mask for each adult and child under 2 and please help your child to remember to keep some distance during our play time.
We hope to see you all this week on the back lawn!Amy and Polly
