Cook Memorial Library is open!

Hours: Beginning June 1, 2021, the library hours will return to regular weekly hours, Monday & Friday 10-5, Tuesday & Wednesday 10-8, Saturday 10-4 (Saturday 10-2 in January, February, and March). 

Inside the Building: Masks are optional as of February 28, 2022 based on current “medium” COVID-19 Community Level as reported by the CDC, which recommends: “People may choose to mask at any time. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.”

If you are looking for a quiet place to work, or a place to use our wifi for an online meeting, it is helpful to let us know ahead of time. Because we are a busy community library, we cannot promise a private (i.e., uninterrupted) space, or a silent space. Knowing that you’re coming helps us figure out how our spaces will be used each day.

Outside the Building: Masks are not required for outdoor programs.

Returning borrowed items: You may return your borrowed items inside at the desk, or use the bookdrop outside the main entrance. Your choice, but if we’re open, please come in, we’d love to see you!

Services: You may continue to request to borrow library items to pick up in the library’s foyer. All items placed on reserve will be put on the shelves in the foyer when they are ready to pick up. You may also come inside, browse, and select items to check out. We’re taking suggestions for new titles, just let us know what you’d like to read!

Collections: We will discontinue quarantining of library materials beginning June 1, 2021. Items will be checked in and shelved without a holding time.

Copier/Fax/Printer: We have moved the equipment back to self-serve locations. If you are able to enter the library, we prefer that you do so to make your copies, send faxes, or print documents from a library computer or your own computer. If you need assistance, feel free to ask a library staff member.

Programs: Library programs will be held outdoors when possible or will be presented remotely online. We started scheduling some small group programs indoors beginning in the fall of 2021. This may change to reflect current conditions.

Meeting Room: To reserve a meeting room, please ask a library staff member.

Book donations: We continue to have limited space for book donations. We will only accept donations of books published from 2015 to the present in good or better condition. We cannot accept textbooks, reference, or self-help books, and multi-volume sets. Please do not donate magazines, catalogs, music CDs, VHS or audiocassette tapes, and anything that smells musty or looks funky and worn out. We ask you to limit your donation to two boxes at a time.
