On Saturday, September 10 at 3:30 p.m., the Cook Memorial Library in Tamworth will host a poetry reading by New Hampshire Poet Priscilla Burlingham.

Burlingham will read poems she has written since 2020. According to Burlingham, these pandemic poems are “not grisly,” but her wonder-filled reaction to a period of isolation that sparked a time of creativity, observation, and appreciation.

The poetry reading will take place outside behind the library. Those who prefer to avoid stairs should enter the library to use the lift to get to the library’s lower level and the exit to the backyard space. Rain date for the reading will be September 17.

Following the poetry reading, musician Beverly Woods will be the performer for the library’s weekly Riverside Serenade music program beginning at 4 p.m.
