Calling all tomato lovers! Local farmer/gardeners Hope Requardt and Sandy Brocaar have teamed up to hold another Tomato Taste-Off.

  • Who: Tasters can be anyone! Growers can be home gardeners or commercial farmers
  • When: Saturday, September 3, 9:30 AM-12:45 PM
  • Where: In front of the Cook Memorial Library, 93 Main Street, Tamworth, NH
  • Cost: Free!

Tasters: Do you love tomatoes? Want to try different varieties? Come join the fun in a free, informal and friendly tomato taste-off. Vote for your five favorite varieties.

The tasters are anyone who attends the Taste-Off on September 3. Taste testing will be conducted blind – by sample #. The actual variety name and grower will not be revealed until the results are tallied. Results will be posted via area electronic bulletin boards (Tamworth Exchange, Sandwich Board, Madison Boulder Bulletin) and by email.

Growers: The coordinators are looking for Carroll County home gardeners and commercial farmers to submit their best tasting tomato varieties – to “compete” for bragging rights. They are especially looking for uncommon, heirloom, or otherwise different varieties. There is space for up to 40 samples.

There is no cost to participate – but growers need to provide a sufficient number of tomatoes:

  • 1 whole to display plus others to cut up for 1 to 2 pints of 1/2″ cubes (or whole tomatoes for cherry/grape varieties) of each named variety

If you are interested in submitting samples or for more information, contact the coordinators by September 2 or download the registration form at
