Cook Memorial Library, along with fifteen other public libraries throughout the region and White Birch Books are pleased to announce that this year the featured book for One Book One Valley 2023 will be The Bear by Andrew Krivak. Krivak will talk about the book and answer reader questions on Thursday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. at the Majestic Theatre in Conway Village. This event will also be live-streamed.

Set in a post-apocalyptic future, The Bear is a story of a father and daughter who are the last two people on earth. The novel explores powerful themes about the importance of intergenerational storytelling, our complicated relationship with the environment, and how to prepare for an unknown future.

Copies of The Bear are available to borrow now at the library. We will hold a book discussion on Zoom in October.
