For June and July 2026, we are pleased to exhibit the artwork of Priscilla Burlingham. A reception with the artist will be held on Tuesday, June 16 beginning at 5:00 PM.

Priscilla Burlingham started painting “as soon as I could pick up a pencil,” age two. She graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston in the 1950s, soon after World War II, when the mood of art teaching moved from Impressionism to Expressionism. Her work has been much saluted: “Oh! I’ve shown on fence posts and in museums,” she says with typical vigor. She found it very valuable to work at artist colonies, Yaddo and Ragdale, where every care was taken to leave one to concentrate entirely on one’s own work. She has worked all her adult life at Fenway Studios of Boston, the first space which allowed artists to live where they worked, and spends increasing amounts of time locally.
