This Week at Cook Memorial Library

Hi everyone,

Make plans to come out to hear Jeanne Marie Pittman talk and show slides of her work at a wildlife rescue center in Costa Rica on Wednesday evening, in person at the library. I find it’s always interesting to hear people talk about work they love.

Here is what is happening at your library this week:

Mobile Library to Remick Acres is on hiatus until the middle of October. Call the library to arrange for delivery or pick up at Remick Acres during this time.

Bookworms reading club for kids up to age 8, Mon 10/7, 4:00-5:00 PM

Board games, Tuesdays, 5:00-8:00 PM

Rescuing Wildlife in Costa Rica, Wed 10/9, 6:30 PM in person at the library: A talk by Jeanne Marie Pittman, the Conservation Programs Director for Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center in Costa Rica. Pittman will show slides and discuss the work of the center and the animals it rescues and rehabilitates, including jaguars, sloths, monkeys, tapirs, and many species of frog and reptiles.

Brown bag book discussion of “The Road to Dalton” by Shannon Bowring, this year’s One Book One Valley title, Friday, October 18 at 12 noon.
