CONNECTing CommUNITY Service Auction
Sunday, July 14 at 2:00-3:00 PM outdoors behind the Cook Memorial Library
This summer, the Friends of Cook Memorial Library are premiering a new fundraiser which aims to build community at the same time. The CONNECTing CommUNITY Service Auction will be a fun-filled hour of bidding on Sunday, July 14 at 2:00-3:00 p.m. outdoors behind the Cook Memorial Library. Those interested in bidding on a service or amenity donated by a fellow community member should come register beginning at 1:30 p.m.
At 2:00 p.m., auctioneer George Cleveland will begin the auction of services. Donated services that will be offered to the highest bidder may include a guided hike, gardening help, read-alouds, babysitting, running errands, baked treats or meals, dog walking, trips to the transfer station, music instruction, firewood stacking, pickleball lessons, and other services donated by members of the Friends and the larger community. Winning bidders will have until the end of the year to collect their services from the donors.
We need your help!
Community members of all ages can help the Friends by volunteering to share a skill or amenity with someone in the community. Your donation of time and talent will make this a successful funrdraiser, but even more importantly, it will connect you to other community members in a fun and meaningful way. If you have a talent to share, or some time to give, use this online form to donate it for the auction: https://forms.gle/Rh3TLwaBNjMvGB8D7. If you prefer, paper donation forms are available at the library.
If you have any questions about donating a service for the auction or bidding on one, please email Jan Hamel at janhamel711@gmail.com, or Gail Marrone at marrones@roadrunner.com, or Becky Riley at beckyryderriley@gmail.com.
All proceeds of the auction will benefit the Cook Memorial Library. The Friends of Cook Memorial Library provide enhancements of services at the library by raising funds through membership, book sales and other ways. Friends of Cook Memorial Library is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible.
The Cook Memorial Library is located at 93 Main Street in Tamworth Village. Parking is located in the municipal lot across the street from the library, behind the Tamworth Town Offices. The library will be closed during the auction. Those attending the auction should use the path to the left of the library to reach the outdoor space behind the library where the auction will take place. Those who need an accessible entrance without stairs should enter through the library’s main door and take the lift to the lower level and back door. In case of bad weather, the auction will take place at the Tamworth Town House at 27 Cleveland Hill Road, four doors down from the library. .
