The fourth perambulation: High Street to Savary Road

The Cook Memorial Library is hosting the fourth “Banntag”, a Swiss tradition that invites community members to walk their town’s boundaries. In Britain it’s been called a “beating of the bounds” and has taken place for over 2000 years. Paul King, a surveyor who did the perambulation in 2009, will coordinate the perambulation. Everyone is welcome to join in. This might take years!

On Sunday, November 2 at 10:00 AM, meet at Savary Road. We will carpool to High Street to begin our hike. If the weather forecast is better for Saturday, November 1, we may reschedule to that day. Email amy@tamworthlibrary.org to register so we know you’re coming and so we can send any updates.

All are encouraged to join in. Bring appropriate footwear, clothing, water, blaze orange, etc. Please call the library at 603-323-8510 with any questions.
