The Friends of Cook Memorial Library are pleased to announce that artist, musician, and author Dave Kobrenski will be the featured speaker at their annual meeting on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tamworth Town House.
Kobrenski’s presentation, “Finding the Source in West Africa,” will combine music, storytelling, visual art, and photography as he shares his experiences from nearly two decades of travel. Kobrenski will discuss social and cultural issues, and make an argument for why cultural diversity may be one of the most important human assets we have on the planet. Woven into the presentation will be demonstrations of the instruments he learned to play while living in West Africa, including the Fulani flute, kamale ngoni (a 10-string African harp), and more.
Kobrenski will have copies of his books “Finding the Source,” “Djoliba Crossing,” and “Drawing on Culture” available for sale and signing.
This program is free and open to the public, and registration is not required. All are invited to stay after the program for a light luncheon and the Friends’ of Cook Memorial Library annual meeting.
