Yeoman’s Fund for the Arts is supporting two programs presented by The Barnstormers Theatre and taking place (mostly) at our library in July and August.
Drama Book Club
Join long-time Barnstormer actor, Doug Shapiro, as he leads you and members of the community, plus other surprise guests, in reading a play aloud together. No acting or theater experience required—we’re just here to have a good time!
Scripts will be provided in advance for those who might like to take a look prior to the club meeting, but preparation is not necessary! Email Doug at doug@barnstormerstheatre.org to get scripts ahead of time.
Come to one, some, or all of the four sessions:
Monday, June 29, 1:00-3:00pm at Cook Memorial Library – Pride and Prejudice
Monday, July 13, 1:00-3:00pm at Cook Memorial Library – Christmas in July, radio plays from the Jack Benny Show and the Fred Allen Show
Monday, August 10, 10:00am-12:00pm at Cook Memorial Library – “Hail Poetry!” sonnets and poems
Monday, August 24, 1:00-3:00pm at UUFES – the musical Peter Pan (August 24)
Script Circle
Playwriting for Everyone is a hands-on, community-centered workshop designed for all experience levels. Led by professional playwright and director Dori A. Robinson, this class will guide participants through the basics of writing for the stage—with plenty of encouragement and creativity along the way. Meets at the library on July 20, 27, and August 3. Register ahead of time.
