Beginning on March 16 and continuing through the end of March, construction to replace the library's lift will take place. Access to the main entrance, children’s room, and meeting rooms will be affected during installation.

Carpool Field Trip, Friday, September 19, 2025

We’re gathering a group of people to carpool together to South Berwick, Maine to visit two Historic New England properties: the Sarah Orne Jewett House and the Hamilton House. We’ll use the library’s passes so admission is free!

Itinerary:

  • Leave Tamworth at 10:30 AM
  • 12:00 PM house tour of Sarah Orne Jewett House
  • 1:15 PM picnic lunch (bring your own bag lunch, we’ll bring folding chairs) on the grounds of the Hamilton House
  • 2:00 PM house tour of Hamilton House
  • 4:30 PM arrive back in Tamworth

Call or stop in the library to sign up, and let us know if you want to volunteer to be a driver, or prefer to be a passenger. If you’re driving, we would need to verify insurance.

For individuals with limited mobility, note that both the Sarah Orne Jewett House and the Hamilton House have first floor accessible spaces, and both offer a virtual tour in their visitor center areas.
