We’re looking forward to next Wednesday’s (1/29) presentation by Michael Wejchert on his book “Hidden Mountains: Survival and Reckoning After a Climb Gone Wrong.” If you want check out the book to read ahead of time, we have several copies available to borrow at the library.

You don’t have to have read the book to attend, but checking out this excellent podcast or some of the many author Erica Gies has listed on this web page (scroll down) will give you an idea of what’s in the book.

Understanding Depression in Older Adults, Fri 1/24, 11:00 AM: Tamworth Community Nurse Association is hosting this event at the library, which will be presented by NAMI NH. The relationship between physical and mental health impacts medical conditions and vice-versa. This program with addresses the variety of issues that can be challenging to older adults and their caregivers. More information can be found here.

Jigsaw Puzzle Contest, Sat 1/25, 2:00 PM (after hours so library staff can compete, too!) How fast can your team finish a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle? Arts & Crafts Supplies Swap, 2/7 & 2/8. Do you have arts & crafts supplies you’re not using anymore? Are you looking for fresh ideas or to start a new hobby? Drop off arts & crafts supplies in good and usable condition* on Tues 2/4 and Wed 2/5 during our regular hours.

Swap will be held on Fri 2/7 from 3-5 and Sat 2/8 from 10-2. If you drop off supplies, you get to come to the swap an hour early (2-3pm) on Friday!

*We cannot accept recycled items that could be used for crafting like old magazines, egg cartons, cardboard boxes, etc.
