The Board of Trustees of Cook Memorial Library cordially invites you to a celebration to mark the completion of three major grant-funded projects: a new rooftop solar energy system, a full replacement of the library’s lift (elevator), and the end of our year as a Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) Rural Library.

Please come and enjoy a light lunch, learn about the projects and the funds received, ride the lift to our meeting room to check out our final order of brand new children’s books provided by the CLiF Rural Library grant, head outside to view the solar energy system and get details about its performance (and solar energy systems in general) from the Tamworth Energy Committee.
Grant funding details:
Rooftop solar energy system project
- Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant – Community Municipal Solar: $43,782
- The project was fully funded by this grant program managed by the New Hampshire Department of Energy
Replacement of library lift/elevator
- Association of Rural and Small Libraries – Sustainable and Resilient New England Libraries: $15,000
- American Library Association – Libraries Transforming Communities – Accessible Small and Rural Communities, rounds two and three: $28,119
- The Tamworth Foundation: $5,000
- Additional funding from Friends of Cook Memorial Library and individual donors: $5,985
Children’s Literacy Foundation Rural Library 2025-26 grant provided:
- $3,000 worth of brand new children’s books for the Cook Memorial Library’s collection
- $500 worth of brand new children’s books for the K.A. Brett School library’s collection
- Two book giveaways, one at the Cook Memorial Library in June 2025, the other at the K.A. Brett School in May 2026 – each child chose two new books to keep at each giveaway
- Three interactive author visits, one at the Cook Memorial Library in June 2025, two at the K.A. Brett School in November 2025 and May 2026
- Youth Literacy Program in December 2025
